Our under 11 boys’ football team played a memorable match in the ‘KMC Sports’ league this evening. The boys braved the cold and wind to get down to Broadgreen International School in search of what would be their 8th straight win.
The game started brightly with Gradi scoring from close range, before an unforgettable moment from forward Isaac made it 2-0. Isaac was appearing in the team as a subsitute for an absent player, so his goal was scored with his very first touch for the school football team in the league!
Before half time, Gradi scored another 2 goals before year 4 Alfie scored a driven left-footed shot into the corner of the goal to see the half end 5-0!
Lister hit back well in the 2nd half, scoring 2 goals themselves, one from extremely long range! OLI stood strong and scored 2 more goals before the final whistle, a second from Alfie (his 6th of the season!) as well as a 4th Goal for Gradi.
A big well-done to all the boys, particularly to Isaac for a brilliant debut performance and to defender Luca for playing through injury at the end of the match to ensure a win.
Miss Topping’s player of the match was Gradi for stunning attacking play; Mr. Fairclough’s player of the match was Alfie for putting in a wonderful performance in spite of being our youngest player!
