Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School

Sports

At OLI, we offer a broad and balanced curriculum within P.E that is furthered by children being given a range of opportunities to compete and participate in sports outside of lesson time. To this end, we have been delighted to be awarded the ‘Silver Games Mark Award’ from the Liverpool School Sports Partnership for our participation at competitions and events tailored to all pupils.

There are a number of sports in which OLI compete and places for these teams are not exclusive, everybody is given a chance to represent the school. We have football, dodgeball, hockey, water polo, rugby, cricket and swimming teams! Sports day is scheduled for the summer term and ends OLI’s sport and PE year on a high, with track and field events on offer for all children.

All children are encouraged to participate in a range of our extra-curricular sports clubs. Jamie Carragher Soccer School offer weekly sessions to all children throughout the school at varying times of the school year, as well as our sports coach Chris leading an after-school multi-sports club for a range of ages and interests. Variety is key to the sporting opportunities that we provide, with examples being Chris leading a handball club and our friends at ‘Judo Education’ leading a programme of judo-based breakfast clubs!
