In Lower Key Stage Two there are three classes: Miss Hughes teaches Year 3, Mrs Burns teaches a mixed Year 3/4 class and Mr Fairclough teaches Year 4. We also have 4 learning support assistants: Miss Stinson, Mrs Shawcross, Mrs Graves and Mrs Thomas, who help to facilitate the children’s learning in class, 1-1 or small group interventions.
The staff work hard to provide exciting and engaging lessons which meet the rigour of the national curriculum. This is also supported by a challenge curriculum which poses questions and investigations for the children to research.
We place a big emphasis on literacy, numeracy, creative and sporting activities. We listen to pupils’ ideas and plan activities which tap into the interests and abilities of the children to stimulate learning.
Specialist teachers support us in some areas of the curriculum, namely Dance, Music and Spanish.
We expect and insist upon high standards of behaviour in Lower Key Stage Two and are proud to say that children and staff enjoy excellent relationships.
