Today Year 4 welcomed 2 midwives into school to talk about their careers and how they perform their daily jobs. We were so interested in how they learnt how to be mid wives and how they helped mums and deliver their babies.

Today we went to Southport as part of our Geography topic. We were comparing Southport to Everton and observing all of the physical and human features of the seaside!
we had so much fun, we visited the beach and then went to the park! We also had ice cream before having a turn on the carousel and finished with a train ride around the park. It was such a brilliant day!
Today we decided to switch off all our electrical devices in school and spend the day reconnecting with each other, without the need for electricity! This was a day to think about saving energy and helping our planet.
we started the day by classes becoming reading buddies across school and supporting each other with reading.
Break time involved classes playing together from different Key Stages!
Lunch time involved classes having grab bags outside as no electrical equipment could be used in the kitchen. We had grab bags and ate outside with our friends.
During the afternoon we all joined together and made a whole school chain to show us all reconnecting to each other!

Today as a school, we took part in ‘The Big Lent walk’. We were joined by families along the route. We made banners to take with us on our journey and all money raised will be sent to CAFOD.
Mother’s Day was celebrated in Year 2 by inviting the important women in our lives, who we love the most and want to thank for all of their love and support. We invited these special women in to our class and they joined us for a special collective worship/circle time. We then provided them with a special certificate and flowers as a thank you!
Early Years are looking forward to The Easter Bunny arriving and are preparing to make him feel very welcome .

We welcomed parents and friends from all over the school to talk to us about a variety of careers. We listened very carefully to Mr Lawler who is a Personal Advisor. We enjoyed learning about how we can support our communities and train to also be a PA. Thank you Kenny !

Today Year 4 looked at how to complete the recovery position to help save other people’s lives. We had a turn with our friends. We remembered to check if the person could respond and then ask someone else to call an ambulance whilst we attempt the recovery position.

This week has been such an amazing week, finding out all about the various different jobs that people have. We have all been inspired by our guest speakers and they have helped us to think about what jobs we might want to do in the future!

Year 2 really enjoyed gymnastics this afternoon and were able to create sequences with various different moves that were learnt.

Year 2- DT
During DT, we have been learning all about a healthy, balanced diet. Today, we tasted a range of different foods, we used our senses to also smell and feel them. We then practiced our cutting skills and used a masher to make a dip!

The Live Simply Award-World Peace Day
This week we have been focusing on how we can encourage peace in the world around us. Key Stage One then wrote promises about how they would encourage peace and we placed them on our Peace tree in the school office.
Key Stage Two, thought about Wars going on in the world and how we need to pray for all people involved. We wrote prayers that will be shared with families, we have also made prayers to be handed out in our local Church.
EYFS thought about peace and made handprints praying for peace in the world.

Today, the Eco Council visited the Rotunda to deliver food for their food bank. We then made crafts and explored the gardens.

Year 2 loved our gymnastics lesson, we got all the apparatus out during today’s session. We thought about the skills we have been learning over the last few weeks and practiced them on the equipment!

Well done to our recently appointed writing Ambassadors. Two very hardworking children who always try their best with writing. They will be looking out for other amazing writing throughout the year and leading by example!
