We continue to be an Inclusion Quality Mark Centre of Excellence !🎉🍾🎆

Attached is the feedback from the IQM assessment day. It is so lovely and everyone should be so proud of their achievements and the feedback we received. It is attached for you to all read in full detail BUT I have pulled out a few quotes that will inspire!
Thank you to you all; as the Assessor commented:

“OLI has a deep and continued commitment to inclusion.”

A parent said, ‘they don’t know how good they are because it’s so natural.’”

There is a lively atmosphere in the school canteen where excellent food is prepared by friendly staff.

Children attending OLI certainly get a good deal.”

“The IQM targets set and achieved at OLI serve to complement and enhance the inclusive ethos of the school.”

“They work well together and ‘enjoy a laugh.’ This is something that I personally value greatly. A happy staff means happy pupils.”

“I was particularly struck by how older children engage with each other in lessons. As 1 pupil speaks, the class would turn to show interest and display active listening.”

“It was an absolute pleasure to spend a day with staff and children, and I feel inspired and enthused to trial ideas in my own school.”

“Comments from stakeholders’ centre around the school being ‘warm,’ ‘amazing,’ and ‘like home.’ I would fully agree with these quotes. All staff, including cooks, the site manager, learning support, and Governors, clearly articulate the same ethos and enjoy being there. External support staff expressed how this is ‘comfortably the best school they work in.”

“Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School is an exceptionally inclusive school.”

“It was lovely to see the early years children practising self-regulation through peer massage as part of the MISP programme. (Massage in Schools Programme). Clearly, this is embedded as a regular feature, and very young children were showing care and empathy towards their peers.”

“Observation of ZOR in Early Years area showed staff well-deployed to support children unable to fully mix with mainstream, but still receiving entitlement.”

“There is a lot of evidence that staff at OLI are very well trained,”

“Diversity in the curriculum is apparent”

Thank you everyone!

As we have been learning all about her, we walked to Everton Park to explore the memorial and recall facts we already know!

Year 1 have explored some influential black when this morning! They listened to the importance of celebrating black history and shared their understanding ? #oliphistory @csergeant3

We explored what a timeline is in history. We made a human timeline and linked to our maths in a practical way to show how many years apart things were. #oliphistory @csergeant3 @DeputyOLI

This week we looked at how school has changed since our grandparents where little and then recorded what we had found out. @csergeant3 @DeputyOLI #oliphistory

Last week year 5 loved acting as hunter-gatherers during our history lesson! #oliphistory @csergeant3 @DeputyOLI

Year 5 had a great time during an orienteering lesson where they used their map skills to navigate where the different Stone Age artefacts were! #oliphistory @csergeant @DeputyOLI

Today year 3 worked collaboratively to order key events from the Victorian time period when Dr Duncan was alive. We then placed them on a scaled timeline which covered a century and counted in 10year intervals #oliphistory @DeputyOLI @DeputyOLI @oli_primary

During our history lesson we looked in detail at cars over a period of 100 years, we then created a timeline using maths equipment to show the decades and years @csergeant3 #oliphistory ??️☺️

Today during History, Year 2 completed a timeline about cars and looked at the changes over time. #oliphistory

History – Transport through time, the children have enjoyed exploring different types of transport and classifying it into land, sea and air #oliphistory @csergeant3 ☺️??✈️
