Lockdown practise

Dear Parents and Carers,

As part of our ongoing commitment to safeguarding and ensuring the safety of all pupils and staff, we will be carrying out a practise lockdown drill today.

This is in line with our statutory duty and the principles outlined in Martyn’s Law, which aims to strengthen security and preparedness in public spaces, including schools. The purpose of this drill is to ensure that everyone knows what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency situation.

Please be assured that this will be done sensitively and in an age-appropriate way. Staff will explain the process to pupils in a calm and reassuring manner, emphasising that this is simply a precautionary measure—similar to our regular fire drills. Our priority is to make sure children feel safe and supported throughout.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact the school office.

Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep our school community safe.

Yours Sincerely

Mrs L Partington
