Some on-line reading resources to enjoy

Here are a list of some of our favourite sites for you to explore authors , enjoy reading or listen to with your children at home. Loads of favourite stories read by lots of famous (and not so famous) people including Kevin Costner and Robert Guillaume. National Geographic Young Explorers is a magazine designed specifically children. They can listen to the magazine being read to them as they follow along with the highlighted text. It is a great way to bring interesting non-fiction stories into reading time.  After registering for a free account (which only takes a few minutes), you have access to over 250 children’s audio books that can be used to read at home. A great site where children can listen (and join in) to poetry read mostly by the poets themselves.
