This year we have two Year 6 classes, taught by Mr Cotton and Miss Gallagher, with support from Mrs Daly, Miss C Gallagher and Mrs Smith. In year 5 there are two classes, taught by Miss Topping and Mrs Coulson. Mrs Roberts will support learning within the Year 5 classes through small group work and 1:1 interventions. Specialist teachers support us in some areas of the curriculum, namely PE, Spanish and Music.
We acknowledge the importance of literacy and numeracy skills to ensure our pupils are fully prepared for the next chapter of their educational journey and beyond, encouraging them to apply these skills across other areas of the curriculum, and to ensure our pupils become lifelong learners.
Children are encouraged to develop their self-esteem, individual potential and self-reliance through our wide and challenging curriculum. We always aim to listen to pupils’ ideas and plan activities which tap into the interests and abilities of the children to stimulate learning.
The children’s education will have been subject to some disruption because of the Covid pandemic but it has been encouraging to see so many pupils engaging with the home learning activities during lockdown. Our recovery curriculum has been carefully designed by school and will support the children as they embark on the final phases of their primary education.
