Welcome to the OLI Readathon !

On your marks, Our Lady Immaculate ? Ready , set , read !

Our sponsored read is running during the Liverpool Readathon and coincides with  National Libraries week from Monday 9th -Friday 14th October . The money raised is to support ‘Read for Good’ who take mobile bookcases to children in hospital so they can  get access to books and resident readers during their stay. Their website has lots of information and some great activities for children  http://readforgood.org/ .

The main aim of the Liverpool Readathon is to motivate our children to read for fun . We know that learning to love reading as a child has benefits which last a lifetime. Children can read what they like from comics to classics , all they have to do is write it on their sponsorship card . Take a look at what they plan to read or help them complete it .(Try to get any  money raised into school by Friday 20th October please.)

Please do support your child’s reading efforts as above all we hope they have fun !

Thanks for your support .

“Reading is like flying – it can carry you to different worlds. So hurray for Read for Good, which helps launch so many children on that exciting journey.”

Julia Donaldson
