We are delighted to be awarded the Gold Games Mark Award for 2015/16, for our commitment, delivery and engagement of competitive school sport this year.
Thank you to the Liverpool School Sports Partnership for supporting us throughout the year with PE and Sport, as well as parents and families who have supported at competitions and events.
There are a number of sports in which OLI compete and places for these teams are not exclusive, everybody is given a chance to represent the school. We have football, dodgeball, hockey, water polo, rugby, cricket and swimming teams! Sports day is scheduled for the summer term and ends OLI’s sport and PE year on a high, with track and field events on offer for all children. Children are put in to houses; houses which compete against each other to win the coveted Sports Day Shield and also participate in intra-school competitions throughout the year. Sports Relief 2014 saw a huge fundraising effort through various physical activity challenges, bringing the whole school community together for a fun-filled day! Watch this space for future events!
In 2012-13, we received a Bronze ‘Games Mark’ award from Sainsbury’s School Games, rewarding our commitment to the development of competition across the school and into the community. This commitment has continued and strengthened in 2013-14 and in July 2014 we were awarded the Silver Games Mark award, which we are extremely proud of. Once again, the school was awarded the Silver Games Mark award in July 2015 (for Key Stage One and Two) and our success in July 2016 has shown that we are always making things better for our pupils.
